Before Your Heritage Night Ride

Get Ready to Ride Through Rabat’s History After Dark

The OUDAD Heritage Night Ride – From Gate to Gate is a 2-hour guided e-bike experience connecting Rabat’s historic gates, monuments, Medina, Kasbah and Atlantic coastline after dark.

It combines heritage, urban exploration and e-biking in a small-group experience through the Moroccan capital.

Arrive at 7:45 PM

Please arrive at OUDAD Bikes Station in the Océan neighborhood at 7:45 PM.

The Heritage Night Ride departs at 8:00 PM and returns at approximately 10:00 PM.

Arriving 15 minutes early gives us enough time for bike setup, equipment and the mandatory safety briefing.

The group departs on time, so late arrivals may not be able to join once the ride has started.

Your ENGWE E-Bike Will Be Ready

Your ENGWE electric e-bike will be prepared and checked before departure.

We will help you adjust your bike and introduce you to the electric assistance, gears, brakes and controls before setting off.

Previous e-bike experience is not required.

Cycling Experience IS Required

IMPORTANT:

Although you do not need previous e-bike experience, you must already be a confident bicycle rider.

HERITAGE NIGHT RIDE DIFFICULTY: 5/5

This rating reflects the urban environment, nighttime conditions, traffic exposure and level of bicycle control required — not simply physical effort.

Parts of the route take place on public urban roads shared with cars, motorcycles and other vehicles.

This experience is therefore NOT suitable for people who are learning how to ride a bicycle.

The pre-ride introduction teaches you how to operate the ENGWE e-bike. It does not teach basic cycling skills.

Safety Equipment Is Included

Every participant receives:

• Helmet
• High-visibility reflective safety vest
• Bottled water

Helmet and reflective vest must be worn during the ride.

The e-bikes used for the experience are equipped for nighttime riding.

Your OUDAD Ride Leader accompanies the group throughout the experience.

Small Groups, Better Experiences

Each Heritage Night Ride is limited to a maximum of 7 riders.

Keeping groups small makes it easier to ride together, manage urban sections and create a more personal experience.

Our target group size is 5–7 riders.

Heritage Stops Along the Way

Heritage Night Ride is designed around Rabat itself.

The route connects historic gates, monuments and neighborhoods including Bab Laalou, Bab El Had, Mohammed V Avenue, Bab Zaer, Chellah, Hassan Tower, Mohammed V Mausoleum, the Old Medina, Mellah, Bouregreg, Kasbah of the Oudayas, Bab El Kebir, the Atlantic side, Bab Rouah and Bab Soufara.

Selected stops allow the group to discover the surroundings, enjoy nighttime views and take photos.

What to Wear

Wear comfortable clothing and closed shoes suitable for cycling.

Depending on the season, we recommend bringing a light jacket or additional layer, particularly for sections near the Atlantic.

Avoid loose clothing or accessories that could interfere with the bicycle.

Bring Your Phone

Bring a charged phone for photos and your OUDAD digital experience.

Rabat’s monuments, gates, Medina, Oudayas and Atlantic coastline take on a completely different atmosphere after dark.

The Route May Be Adapted

Traffic, weather, road conditions, events, security restrictions or temporary closures may require your OUDAD Ride Leader to modify part of the itinerary.

Any changes are made to prioritize safety while preserving the quality of the experience.
